Free Claude skills/Operations
SOP Writer
Turns messy notes or a voice transcript into a step by step procedure a new joiner can follow. A free Claude skill for operations.
A look inside
This is how the skill opens, exactly as Claude reads it. The download has the full instructions, and it is a plain text file you can edit to fit how your team works.
Turn how one person does a task into a procedure a new joiner can follow without asking.
What to ask for
- The task, described any way the user likes: notes, a transcript, a ramble.
- Who will follow the SOP and how experienced they are.
- What starts the task and how you know it is finished.
Start drafting from what you have. Collect gaps as questions instead of stopping at each one.
How to write it
- Put the steps in the order they happen. One action per step.
- Start every step with a verb: Open, Check, Send, Enter.
- Name the exact tool, screen, field, folder or template. "Open the Invoices tab in Xero" and not "go to the system".
- After any step that can go wrong, add a check: what the person should see if it worked.
- Pull out decisions as "If this, then that" lines. Never bury a decision inside a sentence.
- Note who to ask and what to do when something does not match the SOP.
