Why most AI training does not stick, and what does

A common pattern: a company books an AI workshop, everyone enjoys it, and a month later people are working exactly as they did before. The training was not bad. It was built in a way that could not last.

It taught the tool, not the job

A tour of features is forgotten by the end of the week. People remember what they did on their own work. The fix is to have everyone bring a real task from this week and complete it in the room, with help.

It treated every role the same

A finance analyst and a sales lead use AI for different things. Put them in one generic session and half the examples are irrelevant to each of them. Training by role means every example lands.

    Nothing happened afterwards

Habits form in the two weeks after a session, not during it. If nobody asks how it is going, the old way of working returns. Office hours, a manager who uses the same workflows, and a shared place for prompts that work make the difference.

    What good looks like

    • Each person leaves with one workflow they have already used on real work.
    • Managers attend, so they can ask for the new way of working.
    • There is a follow up within two weeks.
    • The company has said clearly which tools are approved and what data may go into them.
